“Winners know when to stop”
Use the numbers on your spending, not just on bonuses
This site measures bonuses in turnover. The same habit protects you when it is pointed at your own money: settle the amount before a session starts, write it down, and stop when you reach it.
- Keep turnover and loss apart. A wagering target is betting volume. It is never a spending plan, and finishing one is not a goal.
- Fix the loss limit first. Then ask whether any offer fits inside it. If the wagering would push you past the limit, play without the bonus or leave it.
- Count the deposit as spent. Money that goes into a casino balance is entertainment money from that moment.
- Never top up to finish wagering or to win back a loss. Chasing is the most common way a plan breaks.
- Set a stop time as well as a stop amount. Long sessions blur the numbers.
Signs it has stopped being a game
- Betting bigger or longer to get back what you lost.
- Working out how a bonus or a cashback claim could get you back to even.
- Using money meant for rent, food, school fees or debts, or borrowing to play.
- Hiding how much or how often you gamble from the people close to you.
- Feeling restless, low or irritable when you try to cut down.
- Gambling to escape stress, loneliness or a bad mood.
One of these is reason enough to talk to someone. The NRGP line on 0800 006 008 is free and confidential and answers at any hour; you do not need to be sure you have a problem before you call.
Springbok's own limits and self-exclusion
Springbok's responsible gaming page says players can ask for daily or monthly deposit limits, and can self-exclude for a period they choose, with a minimum of one month. Both are arranged by contacting Springbok, through live chat on its site or by email to help@springbokcasino.co.za. Verified · 9 October 2026
Decide the limit or the break
Pick the monthly amount from the stop-loss tool below, or the length of the break you want.
Ask Springbok in writing
Send the request by email or chat and say exactly what you want: the limit, daily or monthly, or the self-exclusion period.
Keep the reply
Save the confirmation so you can point to it if anything changes later.
Springbok's blog also says its support team can send session reminders. A limit at one site does not cover others, so tell the NRGP counsellor about every place you play.

The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation runs the NRGP. Its treatment is free: after an assessment, people with a gambling problem are offered eight outpatient counselling sessions, with up to two more where a clinician recommends them, and families can get support too. Its message is a good one to keep in view: Winners know when to stop.
If someone close to you is struggling, talk without blaming, give them the helpline number, and avoid lending money to cover losses. You can call the line for advice yourself.
Turn your monthly budget into a stop-loss
Enter only money you could lose without missing it. The tool divides it into a per-session limit; nothing you type leaves your device.
Stop-loss per session
Roughly per week
When a session hits , stop for the day. To make a hard ceiling, ask Springbok's support for a monthly deposit limit.
